Directions to the meeting site, Houston Cole Library, Jacksonville State University.

Most conference attendees will probably take I-20 to the Oxford exit, which is also the interchange with State Highway 21.  Driving north on 21, you will reach Jacksonville in about 12 miles or 25 stoplights.  Shortly after passing through the town square, you will enter the J.S.U. campus.  Cole Library is the thirteen story building on the right, currently undergoing an exterior renovation.  Drive past the library to the next intersection and turn right.  Pass by the first driveway, leading to a loading dock, and take the next right, into the large parking lot.  Enter the library (this may be difficult due to construction fencing) and go to the reference desk (first floor, on the side opposite the parking lot).  I will try to leave parking permits there.  If they will not cooperate, come on up to the 11th floor to get a permit.

If you are coming to J.S.U. from the northwest, you will probably be entering town on Highway 204.  This highway intersects Highway 21 right in the middle of campus.  Upon reaching this intersection, you will probably notice the library ahead and to the right.  Proceed straight ahead, across 21, pass by the driveway leading to the loading dock and take the next right into the large parking lot.  Enter the library (this may be difficult due to construction fencing) and go to the reference desk (first floor, on the side opposite the parking lot).  I will try to leave parking permits there.  If they will not cooperate, come on up to the 11th floor to get a permit.

Hotels

University Inn.  This is the only motel actually in Jacksonville.  It is on Highway 21, on the south side of town, about three minutes from the meeting site.  The address is 1530 Pelham Road South (Highway 21), phone 256-435-3300.  A single room (Queen or King-size bed) is $34.00 plus tax.  A double room (two queen-sized beds) is $38 plus tax.  This hotel is not particularly elegant, but it is OK and convenient.  They do serve a continental breakfast.

Super 8.  This motel is about 10 minutes south of Jacksonville on Highway 21.  The address is 6220 McClellan Boulevard (Highway 21), phone 256-820-1000.  A single room is $35.95 plus tax, a double is $41.95.  These rooms are a little nicer than the University Inn, with refrigerator and microwave.  They claim a “deluxe” continental breakfast.
