Dear all ACUFP members,

Please see the revised Tentative Agenda and plans for our ACUFP Meeting on April 19-20, 2002 at UAH.  Please pass this information along to your colleagues who may not find it in their email.  We are looking forward to have a well attended and productive meeting.  We appreciate Dr. Jim Miller and UAH for hosting us.  If you have any agenda items you would like to add please contact me.

Friday, April 19

11:30    Check-in.  Receive parking decals, Lunch  The Bevill Center will serve a buffet and set us up in a room next to the cafeteria.  Each individual can go through the buffet and get what they like and all be seated together.  Group then moves upstairs for the meeting.

12:30    Begin meeting Agenda  Tom Bevill Conference Center Hotel in Room 289

6:00      Reception hosted by the President of the UAH

7:00      Supper at Fogcutter Restaurant, near the University.  Reservations are made for the group under UAH/Peggy Bower (each person orders and pays for their own).

Saturday, April 20th

8:00      Breakfast on Saturday is more of the continental style with coffee, juices, water, sodas, pastries, etc. and will be served in the meeting room.

8:30      Meeting reconvenes

12:00    Adjourn

         There will be refreshments provided during the meeting Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

        The Location of the meeting will be on the UAH Campus at the Tom Bevill Conference Center Hotel in Room 289. (If you travel from the south on I 65 to 565 and take the Sparkman Drive/Bob Wallace Avenue Exit and then turn left and travel past three traffic lights (Technology Drive, Lakeside Drive and Holmes Avenue/Bradford Drive) at the next traffic light turn right and then immediately right again and then left into the Bevill Center Parking lot.  If you are traveling 231/431 take the 565  West ramp and travel to the Sparkman Drive exit and turn right and then go past the three traffic lights and turn right at the fourth light and then immediately right again and then left into the parking lot.  If you are traveling from the West take Highway 20 to 565 and then take the Sparkman Drive/Bob Wallace exit and turn left and then past three traffic lights to the fourth light and turn right and immediately right again and then left into the parking lot.  If you take Highway 72 from the west then take the Sparkman Drive Exit and then turn left at the first light and then immediately right and then left into the parking lot.  If you are traveling Highway 72 from the East then stay on 72 until it merges with 565 and take 565 to the Sparkman Drive Exit and turn right and then past three traffic lights to the fourth light and turn right and immediately right again and left into the parking lot).  There is parking available around and near the Bevill Center and no parking passes are needed.

Hotels:

         Tom Bevill Center where the meeting will be held.  The rates are $54.00 per night.

         The Marriott at 5 Tranquility Base right next to the Space and Rocket Center and the rates are $79.00 without breakfast  and $89.00 with breakfast.  The number is 830-2222 or 800-228-9290 or http://www.marriott.com  (Directions are take 565 to the Sparkman Drive/Bob Wallace Exit, turn right and then right again and follow the street around to the Marriott parking lot.  You will be able to see the Marriott from 565.  If traveling from the East take the Sparkman Drive Exit and turn left and then turn right past the overpass and follow the street to the parking lot.  If traveling 231/431 take the 565 West ramp and then the Sparkman Drive Exit and left and then right after the overpass.  If you are traveling 72 from the west take the Sparkman Drive Exit and follow Sparkman until you cross the 565 overpass and then turn right and follow the street to the Marriott parking lot).

         The Candlewood Suites at 201 Exchange Place 256-830-8222 or http://www.candlewoodsuites.com .  Rates are $69.00 and $89.00.  (Directions are from the west take 565 east to exit 14 Research Blvd exit right then stay left and exit onto Research Blvd North, go mile to Madison Pike, exit right and go to stoplight and turn left on Old Madison Pike.  Go to the stoplight and turn right on Exchange Place, Candlewood is on the right.  From the east take 565 west 5 miles to exit 14B.  Exit onto Research Blvd north, go mile to Madison Pike, exit right go to stoplight and turn left on Old Madison Pike.  Go to the stoplight and turn right on Exchange Place, Candlewood is on the right.  From 231/431 take 565 west, go 4 miles and exit on 14B.  Exit onto Research Blvd north go mile to Madison Pike, exit right go to stoplight and turn left on Old Madison Pike.  Go to the stoplight and turn right on Exchange Place, Candlewood is on the right).
